It is tough to stay out of debt for the average American, it is even tougher for a single mom to make ends meet and still have enough money left over to raise kids and save for retirement. It is a good thing there is help available you just need to know how to find it.
There are many agencies in your area that can help single mom's needing assistance. You can look online or in the yellowpages for non-profit listings that will assist with housing, tuition and even employment assistance. It is important to talk to other people who are on blogs that have looked for and got assistance. These people have already been through a lot of the footwork and it can save you time.
You can also look for agencies like TAFN (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), they can help with job training, food stamps and financial aid. Contact your utility company to see if they have assistance for Mothers needing help, usually they will have a program that can help you. You can also contact the LIHEAP (Low Income Housing Energy Assistance Program), to request assistance with your heating bill.
Another great option is to apply for a Government Grant, they have many set aside for single moms in need of financial assistance. There will be many to choose from, so make sure you choose the best one that fits your needs and expectations.
You can also do things on your own such as watching other children which will give you extra money but not take away from your special time with your own children. Also pet sitting is another great form of revenue and is easy to do.
Just remember that being a single mom and raising kids is a tough thing to do, so you do not have to go at it alone.
